Little advice please!!
So Logan has been potty trained for almost a year and once it happened be caught on real quick! He still wears pull ups at night and maybe once a week or once every other week pees in his pull up at night. He does great during the day, doesn't matter where he is, he will go potty! So...the dilemma~ Logan has been having accidents right in the bathroom-only at our house. He will go running in there (like he normally does) and ends up just peeing on the floor with his undies and pants still on. One day it happened at least 3 times. I don't get after him for having accidents, but I try and encourage him to go potty more. Why do you think he is doing this? Mike has almost been gone a month so I thought that we were past the point where regression would happen. What should I do about this? I have thought about putting him back in pull-ups, but that costs so much money! I am going to start having him go potty more often and be more aware of when he goes. This is so different because he is usually so good about it!

Hmmm, tough one E. Have you talked to his ped about it? They may have some good suggestions. That's my only suggestion other than to try to talk to him about it and ask him if he knows why he has the accidents. Maybe ask for his help in trying to prevent them, get him involved in finding a solution. I know that helps Elle take action. If she thinks of a solution she feels more responsible for the result. Maybe that's just Elle?? That's all I got. :( Sorry.
I have no advice here obviously, just wanted to say that I'm sorry because that would be frustrating and confusing. I hope that it is something he works through quickly for the ease of both of you!
I can tell you that each of my kids regressed with their potty training 6 weeks after a new sibling was home - not right away - 6 weeks after. He may be regressing because of the change of your husband being gone, and reacting now a month later. With mine I didn't make a big deal about it when they started having accidents and they seemed to get over it pretty quickly. I would just praise him for making it into the bathroom and say something like, next time let's try and get it in the potty. You're such a good mom - hang in there!
Big Fat Mama
How frustrating. I agree with Big Fat Mama on keeping things positive. Also, I agree with her that it has probably just hit Loagan that Mike is gone. They usually say allow one to two weeks for a regression, but if it goes on for more than two weeks, talk with his doctor. I'm sure you have done this already, but have you had Mike skype with Logan about this? Maybe having Mike tell him how happy it makes him when Logan pees in the potty like a big boy will help Logan get back on track.
I think it could be because of Mike leaving. I don't have much advice. Dustyn was almost completely potty trained 3 weeks ago, a toilet flushed in public while he was sitting on it. Now he won't go in public.
I loved Lindsey's advice, maybe have Mike encourage him to go to the bathroom more often just in case? And talking to the pediatrician. So sorry about this hon! Will be keeping you guys in prayer!
I agree with Kelly. I think that he is a three year old boy with other things on his mind and by the time he makes it to the toilet his bladder is going to explode. The timer thing is a good idea, buy a cheap watch and set it on a 1 hour timer. He is not regressing hon or having a hard time with me being deployed. I love you and I am more than willing to talk to him about it again. Love you!
